And to keep a constant temperature at your house, your heating or cooling systems have to work harder, wasting energy,negatively impacting the environment and costing you money. Don’t hesitate to spend money on quality doors and windows. It would benefit you in the long run.

 

  1. Use sustainable options to build the house: Many options of environmentally sustainable and eco friendly building meterials are there for you to choose from. Sustainability certified wood products, insulation made of recycled materials, salvaged woods and many other alternatives are available. You should also use eco-friendly decorative materials for your living space.

 

  1. Install renewable energy system: Integrate renewable energy system when you build the house, like air turbines, solar panels etc. Install LED lights for low electricity consumption. Dry your laundry using a clothesline instead of using laundry dryers.

 

  1. Landscape: The house should be designed keeping in mind its impact on the landscape. Collect rain water from. the roof using rain barrels.
