The AP state government has released a statement where it congratulated the medical team and other health care workers and called it a “remarkable achievement to show that our medical team and other staff can take up over 1 million vaccinations a day if the government of India maintains the supply.” The state government also handed special compliments to district collectors of Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari Krishna and Guntur forgiving extraordinary effort and dedication in vaccinating 1 lakh doses in a day on their districts.

Arogya Andhra, the official Covid response handle of the state government tweeted that the number of vaccination reached 11.85 lakh at 5 pm.

India right now facing challenges in conducting a productive mass vaccination drive. Many people were unable to get the OTP for registrations on the official website for vaccine registration and slot booking Cowin and the Aarogya Setu App. The government institutions lack vaccine stocks. People had to stand for hours in line to get the shot. Hence, following and maintaining COVID protocols became increasingly difficult. In such a situation, this achievement of Andhra Pradesh showed that with proper planning and administration, it isn’t impossible to lead a successful vaccination drive for the mass.
